Intimate Partner Violence


Interpersonal Violence and Pregnancy Grant

This project supports the co-location of 15 Domestic Violence advocates in Child Welfare and Self Sufficiency Branch offices across the state. The local partnerships also include various programs of the county public health agencies including WIC, Healthy Start and family planning services.

The evaluation of the IPV and Pregnancy grant is focused on providing timely feedback to staff and program management to promote further refinement of the program model as well as collecting data regarding the impact of the program on systems and participants. The evaluation includes the following components:


·         Written surveys for program participants

·         Written surveys for DHS child welfare and self-sufficiency staff

·         Focus groups with DV Advocates

·         Monthly statistics gathered by advocates regarding type of services, participant characteristics

·         Surveys of local Leadership Teams (these include DVSA agencies, DHS and Public Health)

Rural Domestic Violence and Child Victimization Project 

Evaluation of co-located domestic violence advocate services in child welfare offices. Research included surveys of child welfare and domestic violence staff regarding changes in knowledge and practice, as well as interviews with staff and clients regarding the impact of the project on clients, case outcomes, domestic violence and child welfare practice, relationships between domestic violence and child welfare agencies and broader systems issues.
