	Our Community Partner: Lutheran Community Services Northwest The annual Russian Youth Conference is used to encourage high school students to attend Portland State University and take Russian classes for Heritage learners and preserve their language and culture. 	Our Community Partner: Multnomah County Health Department Poder es Salud/Power for Health is a collaborative research project designed to increase the capacity of members of the African-American and Latino communities to identify health issues and address health promotion and disease and injury prevention. 	Our Community Partner: Multnomah ESD Outdoor School The ESD Outdoor School is designed to teach field-based science concepts as they relate to natural resources, to extend science instruction beyond the classroom and to implement activities that provide opportunities for participation in cooperative living experiences, performing arts, recreation, and structured events. 	Our Community Partner: National College of Naturopathic Medicine NCNM provides an academic experience focusing on natural medicine, both eastern and western, and integrated medical education, research, and patient care. PSU students participating in the Psychology and Native American Studies programs conduct research with the Native American Rehabilitation Association (NARA) that is designed to increase understanding of the mental health needs of the American Indian/Alaskan Native population. 	Our Community Partner: Native American Youth Association (NAYA) NAYA works to increase opportunities for healthy activities by promoting family stability, youth camps, support groups, cultural activities, tutoring classes, and special events. 	Our Community Partner: Nature Conservancy Students worked with Brian Lipinski throughout Spring Term 2003 to design and write a brochure discussing the ecological features and flora and fauna of the Camilla Reserve. The brochure is for the public at large.	Community Partnership

	Our Community Partner: Northwest Film Center This partnership combines the practical filmmaking resources of the NWFC with PSU's academic expertise. Students can take classes at the NWFC for PSU credit, and vice versa. 	Our Community Partner: Oregon RAINS RAINS is a non-profit, private/public partnership formed to accelerate the development and deployment of technology for homeland security. PSU students perform research and development on a network infrastructure designed to allow first-responders to communicate securely about emergency situations.	Community Partnership
	Our Community Partner: Our United Villages OUV is a non-profit organization founded on the belief that every person can make a positive difference in their community. OUV invites everyone in a neighborhood to Neighborhood Conversations, where they provide facilitation, food, and necessary accommodations for 2 = hour-long discussions designed to encourage neighbors to share their hopes and ideas with each other. Self-enhancement, Inc. provides program evaluation, research, and demonstration projects designed to improve services and outcomes for African-American children and families, specifically geared to reducing non-relative placements of children and recurrence of maltreatment. 	Our Community Partner: Sisters of the Road Sisters Of the Road Cafh is a non-profit restaurant open to the public. An estimated 250-300 meals are served daily through SOTR's Hot Meals Program. Meals are given free of charge to all first time visitors to the cafi and to those who are unable to pay and cannot work because of age, ill health or parenting responsibilities. 	Our Community Partner: Smith Elementary School Smith Elementary participates in a Capstone course that addresses the need for the integration of technology into elementary education. 	Our Community Partner: The Wetlands Conservatory TWC works with local communities, land trusts, watershed councils, and state resource managers to build local stewardship and acquire lands. 	Our Community Partner: United States Attorney's Office PSU students assist in data collection and evaluation for Project Safe Neighborhoods, a multi-agency task force focusing on the reduction of gun crimes in the tri-county area.	Community Partnership
	Our Community Partner: Upward Bound This partnership pairs PSU seniors with 9th-12th grade students from four Portland high schools. PSU students serve as mentors and tutors to groups of first generation high school students in an attempt to facilitate the completion of their high school studies and introduce them to college life. 	Our Community Partner: US Fish and Wildlife Service This partnership involves the cooperation of the USFWS, the Chinook Tribe and Portland State University and is aimed at archaeological and environmental research, public education and student training.	Community Partnership
	Our Community Partner: Winners on Wheels of Oregon Students work with Winners on Wheels of Oregon in order to learn about the needs of people in wheelchairs and what life is like for both the children and their families. The YEI partners with Portland State to provide field learning experiences. All youth are taught life skills, basic employment readiness training, and receive job search assistance.
