New appointments were recently announced for the merged centers for Online Learning and Academic Excellence. Janelle Voegele is now interim director of Teaching, Learning and Assessment, and Johannes De Gruyter is interim director of Pedagogy and Platform. In addition, the centers are establishing seven Faculty-in-Residence positions. The appointments were announced by Sukhwant Jhaj, vice provost for Academic Innovation and Student Success.

Voegele has been with the University since 1997, most recently as assistant director for Teaching and Learning in the Center for Academic Excellence. In her new post, she is responsible for developing and leading evidence-based faculty development programs. The Academic Excellence administration also includes Amy Spring, assistant director for Community-University Partnerships, and Patrice Morris Hudson, Teaching Support Specialist and Program Administrator.
