For Faculty/Staff

Career service professionals across campus want to partner with faculty and staff to prepare our students for meaningful and productive careers beyond Portland State. By working together, we can ensure that students’ transitions from college to the work force are as seamless as possible.
The following PSU resources are available to serve the career development needs of our students and alumni:
- Advising & Career Services provides services to all PSU students and alumni
- Maseeh College of Engineering & Computer Science provides job and internship information for students and alumni in their college
- School of Business Administration (SBA) Career Services offers services to both undergraduate students and graduate students
The professionals in these units offer the following career assistance to students and alumni:
- Exploration of majors and careers, based on their interests, skills, goals and values
- Location of internships and PT and FT jobs
- Development of job search skills (i.e. resumes, cover letters, interviewing)
- Connections with employers (i.e. career fairs, on-campus recruitment events)
- Graduate school applications
Professionals in these programs are also available to partner with faculty and staff by:
- Making presentations on career-related topics to classes and student groups
- Connecting them to employers who wish to interact with students and alumni
Faculty and staff can support both PSU students and alumni by:
- Encouraging them to use career services on campus and referring them to this website, which offers sections for both students and alumni
- Referring employers to Advising & Career Services to post internships and jobs in CareerConnect, the PSU jobs and internships database, and to get information about career/internship fairs and other recruitment activities
