Carnegie Conversation: Portfolios

Unsure of how teaching and community engagement activities are prioritized in the promotion process, and how they compare with traditional research? What counts in academe in the 21st century? How do we gather it? How do we analyze it in old and new ways?

Join a cross-discipline group of faculty in this year's Academic innovations Mini-Grant (AIM) Academic Portfolio Cohort for a lively discussion on the potential of learning from the academic portfolio process for

  • increased clarity in the promotion and tenure review process;
  • supporting individual career development of tenure track and fixed term faculty;
  • understanding the value of diverse forms of scholarship;
  • creating opportunities for faculty-initiated programmatic change.
