Employee costs in general account for the greatest part of a department's budget. In the past the Budget Office has prepared a Roster for Budgeting Purposes for each department as of June 30th. For 2007 these Rosters will again be prepared. However, departments should be tracking their employee costs monthly in order to budget for their costs. There are reports available on Banner HRIS to help departments do this. Please contact PSU OIT Department - Banner for access to these reports if you have been assigned budget responsibility for your area. Revenue and Expenditure History
To review your Department's history of Revenue and Expenditures please see Financial Reports and Budget Exhibits on our website. This may help you in your budgeting process. You may also view the financial history of your department several different ways through Banner FIS. Please contact PSU OIT Department - Banner for Banner FIS access.
Training 2007-08
This year the Budget Office will provide periodic training classes about Budgeting and Banner resources. A list of classes and tentative schedules will be available shortly. In addition Journal Voucher classes for Budgeting and Business Affairs are offered at various times throughout the academic year. Please contact the Budget Office if you need help with budgeting issues in your area. Each member of the Budget Staff has been assigned various departments to assist with departmental budgets. See Budget Staff Contact List to determine who is assigned to your department. We are also holding periodic meetings with our fiscal contacts for departments to assist in the budgeting process. Meeting dates and information will be sent out by listserve to "BOG" as information becomes available.
