Biology Major Requirements Fall 2014

Courses taken under the undifferentiated grading option (pass/no pass) are not acceptable to fulfill department major degree requirements (with the exception of courses numbered BI 401-408 which are only offered as P/NP). A grade of "C-" or above is required for all courses taken to satisfy departmental major requirements, including courses from supporting departments.

Additional Science Coursework* (Above and beyond requirements listed above) 12 cr

BI 401 Research, BI 404 Cooperative Education/Internship, BI 405 Reading & Conference, BI 406 Laboratory Project:  A maximum of 6 credits total (or 8 credits, if completing the Biology Honors Thesis) from BI 401, 404, 405, or 406 may be applied to the 44 credit upper division Biology requirement..

 

2.   Approved courses from other departments (from list below): A maximum of 8 credits from the following departments may be applied, with prior Biology department approval. Students can acquire a list of currently approved courses from the Department of Biology office and website. These credits cannot be substituted for those in Areas A, B or C or for the 412 499 credit requirements.
