Spring Term Workshops & Clinics

We ask that you register in advance for the Legal Clinic and Touring 101 Workshop. The weekly clinics are drop-in and no registration is necessary.

 

Bicycle Maintenance 101 Clinics

This informative workshop will cover all of the basics that are needed to properly maintain your bicycle. We will discuss and demonstrate proper methods of lubricating your drivetrain, adjusting your brakes, properly maintaining your tires and all of the other tricks to keep you rolling around town. Feel free to bring your bicycle and we can discuss specific questions that you may have.

Bicycle Legal Clinic

Have questions about the traffic laws related to biking, insurance, or what to do in a crash? Come get your questions answered at the Bicycle Legal Clinic. Ray Thomas, local attorney and author of Pedal Power: A Legal Guide for Oregon Cyclists, will walk you through the book and the rights and responsibilities of cyclists on Oregon’s roadways and sidewalks. Attendance is free, and you get to take home a free copy of Pedal Power.

Introduction to Bicycle Touring

Are you itching to hit the open road and explore nature in a way you haven't yet? Are you a regular bicycle rider but have never taken a bicycle tour? Then join us to learn more about Self-Supported Bicycle Touring, We'll be discussing equipment, planning, and cost as well as day-to-day life on the road. We'll also have a few loaded touring bikes to check out. Touring can be easy as an overnight camping expedition close to home, and can be as complicated as a cross-country or around-the-world expedition!

Bicycle Commuting 101 

For those riders who are new to commuting, we cover the basics from route finding to rules of the road and more. We give a basic skills overview and hints to keeping yourself safe out there on the road. A good class for everybody to take when you start thinking about commuting by bike as well as those you are looking to refine your skills.

Friday Flat Fix Clinic

BRING YOUR BIKE and learn how to change your flat tire. This is a great clinic for a refresher or for the first-time cyclist.
