Auxiliary Services provides essential services to students, faculty and staff, contributing to the overall enhancement and quality of life of the University community. The Division of Auxiliary Services encompasses the Smith Memorial Student Union, Campus Events and Guest Services, University Place Hotel, University Housing, Transportation and Parking Services, Dining and Catering Services, Property Management and Leasing, PSU Retail Services, and Summer Conferencing (view our Organization Chart). Auxiliary Services is proud of the team members that help the division succeed through delivering friendly, courteous service.
University Housing
University Housing oversees ten residential buildings on the PSU campus which includes residence halls and apartment-style living. Flexible, customized options, for campus living and dining, cater to everyone, including couples, graduates, single parents and first year students.
Transportation & Parking
Transportation & Parking Services manages approximately 3700 parking spaces in 12 facilities. In addition to selling parking permits, TAPS provides students, faculty and staff with subsidized transit passes and manages a bicycle repair shop.
Campus Events & Guest Services
Campus Events & Guest Services offers meeting space across the PSU campus for non-academic events hosted by student groups, PSU departments, and external guests. For guests unacquainted with the PSU campus, we can recommend facilities to suit specific needs of their event, including additional furniture and A/V equipment.
Smith Memorial Student Union
The Smith Memorial Student Union is the living room of the PSU Campus. Among the amenities the SMSU has to offer are a bowling alley, a gameroom complete with largescreen Playstation and XBox play, a food court as well as lounge and study area. In addition to these amenities, the SMSU also boasts a grand ballroom and over a dozen meeting rooms available for rent and use for conferences, workshops, concerts and a variety of other types of events. We invite you to take advantage of our many services and rental spaces provided for your convenience.
University Place Hotel
University Place Hotel and Conference Center is conveniently located within seven blocks of downtown Portland within fareless square which offers free public transportation throughout the downtown area. Nestled between the Portland State campus, Lovejoy Park and a short walk or streetcar ride to the river, we offer 235 guest rooms, a restaurant and lounge, and a full-service conference facility, including a ballroom that seats up to 400.
Summer Conferencing
With more than 380 private, fully furnished dorm rooms, varied dining options, and conferencing spaces to fit all needs, one-stop shop is finally at Portland State University.
Retail Services
Need it. Find it. Buy it. Retail Services at PSU makes acquiring what you need easy—everything from box office to bowling alley, PSU sweatshirts to pool tables, football tickets to food carts, scantrons to snacks, logo gifts to locker rentals, video games to vending machines.
Dining & Catering
PSU Dining & Catering is proud to service the Portland State University campus and surrounding community. We offer an extensive variety of services menus, office luncheons, off-campus meetings, conferences, weddings and black tie events. We can also provide an enticing array of ethnic cuisines. We will work with you to customize your menu, coordinate all details of your event including table settings, linens, and floral designs.
Property Management & Leasing
Property Management & Leasing manages several campus buildings that serve both academic and commercial interests. Our objectives are to provide reasonably priced office and retail space together with outstanding customer service. We handle all leasing activities and inquiries regarding available retail and office space within the University District.
Auxiliary Accounting
Auxiliary Accounting Services provides accounting functions to all of the Auxiliary departments in many ways, from processing deposits to creating financial reports. Our office strives to provide great customer service to our departments by providing accounting functions in a timely matter; ensuring accounting guidelines of the University are followed in departments; investigate and resolve accounting issues; providing financial Analysis to assist departments in their decision making.
