Courses in computer graphics and digital media are taken by Art majors as requirements to satisfy their degree program or as electives to enhance and enrich their studies in art.
Students take courses in computer graphics and digital media to satisfy requirements for two programs:
-
a degree in Art with a concentration in Graphic Design
-
a degree in Art with a Minor in Time Arts
These courses develop the technical, creative, and professional skills required for the graphic designer, animator, and digital media artist. Taken as part of a degree program, each series of courses provides a comprehensive and systematic education, whether focusing on print media, interactive media, or time-based media.
Each course in computer graphics and digital media develops our students in the following areas:
- Theory and technical knowledge of computer graphics and digital media
- Software applications tools and techniques
- Experience with graphics and media production workflow and project management
- Creative application of computer graphics and digital media as unique, personal, and expressive forms of visual and interactive communication.
- Experience with a variety of personal,
team-based, and client-driven work environments.
These courses enable our students to fully integrate their technical skills and experience with their creative studies and investigations.
