Art Alumni Exhibition and Scholarship fund
New Art Scholarship Fund Created; Kick-off Event will be on July 28th
PSU Art Alumni and Friends announces that is has created a Scholarship Fund and is having a kick-off event hosted by Butters Gallery in Portland on Wednesday, July 28th from 6 to 8 pm. Tickets are $35 per person in advance. Money raised for the PSU Art Alumni and Friends Scholarship will be managed by the PSU Foundation. Half of the proceeds raised each year will be given to a PSU art student through a competitive selection process. The other half will be saved in the Fund with the goal of raising a total of $25,000. When the goal is reached the scholarship will be fully endowed.
Please join us for some food catered by Dave Clark and Big River Events, wine and fun and become a charter contributor to the Scholarship Fund. Butters Gallery is featuring two shows this month of work by PSU art alumni who are represented by them. Elise Wagner ('95) is having a one-person exhibition entitled Solar Flare. There is also a group exhibition, PSU Focus, featuring Carolyn Cole ('77), Gilles Foisy ('96), Matthew Haggett ('96), Mylan Rakich (MFA '00), Julie Rall ('83), and Elise Wagner ('95).
Come and see the show, visit with old friends and make new ones as we celebrate the contribution PSU graduates are making in the art community and begin raising money to help the next generation artists obtain their art education at Portland State University.
