The Department of Architecture of Portland State University invites applications for three (3) full-time, tenure-track positions at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor, to begin September 2009.

Institutional Context
Within the vibrant urban context of Portland, Oregon, PSU offers a four-year baccalaureate degree with a major in architecture and has recently added a Master of Architecture to its offerings. The program entered candidacy status for professional accreditation with NAAB in July 2008 and the university is committed to adding new faculty in response to this opportunity. The educational emphasis of the department recognizes the value of architecture as a primary means of cultural transformation, and perceives Portland as an urban laboratory for experimental investigations of contemporary human issues. To help and shape the pedagogic direction and research base of graduate level studies, the Department is inviting applications for:

Assistant or Associate Professor, Tenure-Track Position in Sustainability

Assistant or Associate Professor, Tenure-Track Position in Architectural Structures

Assistant or Associate Professor, Tenure-Track Position in Digital Media

Successful candidates will be expected to collaborate with faculty colleagues in guiding the development of the departmental courses and programs. Each position will teach design studio, lecture and seminar courses at all levels of the program. Pursuit of a close working relationship with the Portland professional community is expected.
