Portland State University Student Alumni Relations Group (SARG)

Mission

To enhance the student and alumni experience through mutually beneficial interaction. To work closely with the Alumni Association and with other student organizations to promote alumni-student unity. To foster a positive and concrete image of the PSU Alumni Association among current students.

Purpose

Student Alumni Relations Group (SARG) was created in 2006 to provide Portland State University students with service and leadership opportunities, to build a foundation for future alumni leaders, and to foster communication, awareness, and mutually beneficial interaction between current students and alumni.

Goals

To serve as a liaison between Portland State University student body and alumni and to provide a broad range of outreach designed to expand upon Portland State's educational experience. It is our intent that these activities will promote academic excellence and a sense of tradition, pride, and loyalty to the university.

1. To promote positive interaction between PSU Alumni and the student body.
2. To provide students with valuable career networking programs and opportunities.
3. To enhance members' organizational and leadership skills through interaction with a committee of the PSU Alumni Association Board of Directors.
