The public is invited to a special lunchtime author talk at the Scappoose Public Library.
Susan Jones will share her original humorous verse and introduce her book,
“Words’ Worth’s Vocabulary Verse A to Z and Back Again: A Rhyming Romp Through the Alphabet,” at the Scappoose Public Library, 52459 SE Second St., on Friday, Aug. 9 at noon.
Attendees will be entertained by carefully chosen selections from her Ogden-Nash-like output of over 400 clever and entertaining verses based on intriguing words.
The former Susan Anderson will be in Scappoose for the 50th reunion of Scappoose High School Class of 1963. She is also a graduate of Portland State University, where she earned a degree in German, and she has a master’s degree in Library Science from Indiana University.
Before moving from Oregon in 1980, Susan was an active professional musician in the Portland area, playing clarinet for 14 years in the Oregon Symphony, and before that, playing as a student in the Portland Youth Philharmonic. She continues to play both clarinet and piano.
This event is free. For additional information call the Scappoose Public Library at 503-543-7123.
