If you have been academically dismissed, you may be reinstated to the University upon petition to, and approval of, the University's Scholastic Standards Committee. In your petition you will need to explain the circumstances that led to your academic dismissal and the circumstances that would now lead to your greater success in college. It is also useful to provide documentation supporting your situation (e.g., medical, personal, etc.). In addition, you must have an academic adviser or faculty member complete and submit a letter of recommendation directly to the Office of Admissions, Registration and Records. Advisers in the Undergraduate Advising and Support Center may be able to assist you with the petition process. A copy of this petition is available online or from the Office of Admissions, Registration and Records in the lobby of Neuberger Hall.
Note: Students who are reinstated are placed back on academic probation, and the above rules apply.
