Prerequisites

A course prerequisite is a requirement that must be completed before enrollment in the course. These are necessary to assure that you have the background needed for successful completion of a course and may be expressed in terms of specific courses, credit levels, or more general knowledge, experience, or skills. The course description in the Bulletin will indicate course prerequisites. Prerequisites expressed in terms of specific courses are enforced automatically by the registration system. If you lack the prerequisite but feel prepared for the course, you may register with permission from the instructor using the Special Registration form.

Please note: In some departments (for example, Business, Foreign Languages, Mathematics and Statistics) if you complete a course before taking the prerequisite and later complete the prerequisite, you will not receive credit for the prerequisite course.
