Major requirements

Student Advising Orientation

A major is a primary field of study, an in-depth academic focus. Here you will develop a significant level of knowledge in a specific academic area. You must complete the requirements for one of the majors offered by PSU in order to graduate. PSU offers over 100 majors and the number of credits required for each major will vary. Information for the specific requirements for the majors offered by PSU is located on most department websites and in the PSU Bulletin. Questions about these requirements should be directed to the faculty/advisers in that specific department.

Please note: The College of Engineering and Computer Science requires formal admittance before students are allowed to enroll in upper-division coursework. The School of Business Administration requires formal admittance before students are allowed to enroll in 400-level coursework. The child and family studies major and the community development major also require admission.
