Graduating with honors

Latin honors designations are conferred at the baccalaureate level to students who have earned the requisite PSU GPA and who have earned a minimum of 72 credits at PSU, with at least 60 of those credits taken for differentiated grades (A-F). The GPA calculation is based on PSU credit and utilizes the current PSU repeat policy. The award levels are as follows:

    summa cum laude: 3.90-4.00
    magna cum laude: 3.80-3.89
    cum laude: 3.67-3.79
Latin honors are noted on academic transcripts, inscribed on diplomas, and honors candidates are identified in the commencement program. For more information, contact the Office of Degree Requirements, 104 Neuberger Hall.
