GPA calculation
The GPA is based on the total number of quality points earned divided by the total number of credit hours accumulated. For each course, multiply the point value of the letter grade by the number of credit hours for the course (see this table for point values). Then total the quality points for the term and divide by the total credits for the term to get your term GPA. To calculate your cumulative GPA, add the credit hours for all terms and the grade points for all terms in separate columns. Divide the total grade points by the total credit hours. The cumulative GPA is the result of this calculation.
Examples
B+ = 3.33 x 4 credit hours = 13.32 grade points (and 4 credit hours divided into 13.32 grade points = 3.33 GPA);
A = 4.00 x 3 credit hours = 12.00 grade points (and 3 credit hours divided into 12 grade points = 4.00 GPA)
W, I, X, Y, P/NP, credit-by-examination, and correspondence courses are not calculated into your GPA.
