Declaring a major

Student Advising CECS

It is recommended that you declare your major when (or before) you have earned 90 credits. Some majors require coursework that is best started during your first year. A delay in choosing a major could add to the time and expense of completing a degree. Once you decide your major, submit a Student Information Change form to the Registration & Records windows in the lobby of Neuberger Hall.

Please note: Certain programs require a separate application to the major department. The Maseeh College of Engineering and Computer Science requires formal admittance before students are allowed to enroll in upper-division coursework. The School of Business Administration requires formal admittance before students are allowed to enroll in 400-level coursework. Graphic Design requires a portfolio before students can enroll in upper division coursework. Students must also formally apply to the Child and Family Studies Department and Community Development program before enrolling in certain courses in those majors.
