Whether you are transferring from a neighboring state or from across the country, you probably have many questions about Portland State, including our academic programs, housing options, and more. We want to answer your questions and help you decide if PSU is the right place for you.

Many students who transfer from out-of-state have questions about becoming an Oregon resident. If you don't meet residency requirements, you may only need to take 45-72 credits at non-resident tuition in order to graduate from PSU, depending on the number and type of courses you transfer. Be sure to talk with an admissions counselor or academic adviser to find the plan that works best for you.
University housing isn’t just for freshmen. In fact, many of the students who live in University Housing transferred here from other colleges and universities.
To get started, plan to visit campus. There are many opportunities for you get to know PSU. You can choose from a range of options from self-guided tours to comprehensive programs.
