Preview Day for Freshmen

Preview Day for Freshmen provides high school students, who are exploring their higher education options, an opportunity to find out what Portland State University has to offer. This event for prospective freshmen and their families. Take the day to immerse yourself in our academic curriculum, explore our diverse urban campus, and discover the many connections we foster with the greater metropolitan community.

When & Where:

Preview Day is on Saturday, November 5, 2011
Further information on location and registration check-in time will be sent to each participant in the confirmation email.

If you would like to attend Preview Day, please contact 503-725-5555 for details of the program.  You will be asked to complete on-site registration when you arrive.

Program Overview: 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Here are some of the things you will be able to participate in:

REGISTRATION
Enjoy breakfast refreshments after checking-in for the program and receiving your name tags, program agenda, and registration materials.

OPENING SESSION
Hear about our academic curriculum, explore our diverse urban campus, and discover the many connections that Portland State fosters within the greater metropolitan community.

ACADEMIC SESSIONS
Here's your chance to explore academic area of interest, talk to faculty members, and learn more about our department majors and programs. We will also have a session for those who are undecided.

BREAKOUT SESSIONS
Discover ways to make college affordable with financial aid and scholarships. Learn more about living on-campus! Find out more about our Career Center's jobs database which will assist you during school and after you graduate! Learn about getting involved on campus and making a difference in your community.

CAMPUS TOUR, LUNCH, AND ADMISSIONS PRESENTATION
Take a campus tour, led by a current PSU student. Learn about the process and requirements to be admitted to Portland State. Take the opportunity during lunch to speak to our student volunteers about their Portland State experience.

CLOSING RECEPTION, AND PRIZES
All Preview Day student participants are eligible to win prizes, including scholarships for the Fall 2012 term, Portland State apparel and spirit items. You must be present to win!

Cost

There is a small registration fee per person.  All fees cover program materials, refreshments, lunch, and a t-shirt for each student who attends. The fee is payable upon check-in by cash or personal check.
