Celebrated children's book editor comes to Portland

Acclaimed editor and children's book publisher Arthur Levine heads a cast of publishing luminaries scheduled to appear at this summer's Pacific Northwest Children's Book Conference, sponsored by Portland State's Haystack Summer Program in the Arts, July 19-23, 2004. The conference includes a week of lectures and faculty-led workshops for writers and illustrators.

Levine has published and edited numerous award-winning books for children including the American editions of the Harry Potter series, Philip Pullman's The Golden Compass, Peggy Rathmann's Goodnight Gorilla, and the Caldecott Award-winning Officer Buckle and Gloria (also by Rathmann) and Mirette on the High Wire, by Emily McCully.
