Portland State accepts applications for admission on a rolling basis each term and accepts applications throughout the year. While we recommend that applicants submit their applications by the priority deadline, we accept applications after priority deadines have passed. We do, however, give priority to complete applications that are submitted by the following dates:

Priority Deadlines Only - Applications Accepted Anytime

FALL: March 1
WINTER: July 1
SPRING: November 1
SUMMER: February 1

Application Processing Timeline

International Admissions staff begin processing applications when all required transcripts and academic credentials have been received.

• If you are submitting transcripts from U.S. schools only, allow at least 6 weeks for processing.
• If you are submitting transcripts from schools outside the U.S., allow at least 10 weeks for processing.

Applicants residing outside the U.S. are encouraged to apply at least six months in advance of their expected enrollment date to allow time to mail admission and immigration materials.

Program Applications

Certain academic departments (for example those in the School of Business, Maseeh College of Engineering and Computer Science, and Child and Family Studies) require an additional application for admission to their undergraduate programs. Please consult your academic adviser for information on application deadlines, pre-requisite courses, and grade point eligibility.
