How to Apply: Transfer

Students with 30 or more transferable quarter credits (20 semester credits) will be considered transfer students. Students with fewer than 30 transferable quarter credits must meet the admissions requirements for both college transfer and high school students.

Step One: Send your application for undergraduate admission to the PSU Office of Admissions, Registration and Records by the priority filing date, accompanied by a non-refundable processing fee of $50.00. You can use the online admissions application or request an application to be sent by mail by contacting the Office of Admissions, Registration and Records.

Step Two: Submit your official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended. Note: To be official, the transcript must be in its original, sealed envelope from the issuing school or institution.All documents submitted to the University become the property of Portland State University and cannot be returned, copied or released.

Step Three: Meet minimum Transfer Requirments

 

Academic Probation
Academic probation will not affect your admission if your complete academic record meets the admissions standards in effect at the time of your application. If you fail to meet the minimum requirements, you must follow the appropriate petition process, or file an appeal of your admission decision.

Disciplinary Disqualification
If you have been disqualified from another institution for disciplinary reasons, you must be eligible for re-instatement at your previous institution to be considered for admission to Portland State University.

Special Admission

Students who do not meet admission requirements may apply for admission through the regular admission process. If denied, students will be mailed an Appeals of Admission Decision form and given the opportunity to appeal the admission decision. See Special Appeals.
