PNW Against Fossil Fuel Exports, with Bill McKibben
Wednesday, July 17, 2013 - 7:00pm to Wednesday, July 17, 2013 - 9:00pm

As the planet lurches past 400 parts per million concentrations of CO2, the moment has come - the moment to ask you to do hard, important, powerful things. The last two weeks of July are, statistically, the hottest stretch of the year. This year we want to make them politically hot too. Which means we need you out on the front line. As part the nationally coordinated Summer Heat actions Bill McKibben, author and co-founder of 350.org will be in Vancouver, WA to talk about climate change, the growing climate movement, and the campaign against proposed fossil fuel export terminals in the Pacific Northwest. Vancouver is emerging as a front line in the climate fight with a proposed 360,000 barrel/day oil export facility that threatens the health and safety of the local community, as well as being an important pillar to stop climate change globally.

Join us for this event on July 17th in Gaiser Hall at Clark College. The event will start at 7:30 (Doors at 7pm) and go to 9:00. We will have time for questions and we will discuss the upcoming Summer Heat Climate Action on the Columbia River that is scheduled for July 27th and which Bill is promoting in his visit to Vancouver.
